ANNUAL REPORT
WORKFORCE RESILIENCE
IN THE AI ERA
As AI adoption accelerates, HR leaders need clarity on how roles, skills, and workforce approaches are evolving. Our latest report explores how AI is shaping talent decisions and skill development, and what organizations can do to prepare their people for what comes next.
The report explores 3 key themes:
A turning point
AI is already influencing talent decisions, with many employers preparing for significant role changes over the coming years.
Skill security
Skills are becoming more important than fixed roles as AI reshapes how work gets done.
An adaptable workforce
How organizations can support employees impacted by AI and build more resilient teams.
A turning point
Nearly 6 in 10 (57%) HR leaders say their organization is likely to conduct layoffs in the next 12 months, and almost half this group (47%) say increased use of AI is the main factor. Employees, on the other hand, report high confidence in job security. This gap highlights a disconnect between leadership expectations and employee perceptions, increasing the risk of complacency and emerging skill gaps.
Skill security
With roles changing faster than many employees expect, employers can’t rely on people staying in fixed positions. Two-thirds (64%) of HR leaders say AI will require employees to learn new skills or adapt to new tools. Our research shows how skill security is replacing traditional job security, making continuous learning and development essential. Human skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability remain central to success.
An adaptable workforce
The majority of HR leaders (88%) agree that employers should help workers affected by AI through a combination of clear career frameworks, upskilling, and, when necessary, career transition services. Providing this kind of support helps individuals move forward with confidence and equips organizations with the capabilities and reputation needed to navigate disruption.
